a busy schedule that comes with being an MLA, Art continues to spend
time in volunteer efforts in the community.
Since becoming an

are information gathering and oversight committees designed to help
the various governmental departments they are associated with improve
the services provided to Albertans. These include:

be addressed in Calgary Hays. Art recognizes the importance of developing
the education, health and recreational infrastructure needed to
meet the needs of Calgary Hays' growing population and economy.
These cornerstones of a strong community are essential to ensure
that the people of Calgary Hays can grow, prosper and enjoy life.
Art was responsible
for introducing the Special Constable Review Act through the legislature
and is currently working on Bill 212, Safe Communities & Neighborhood
Act.
Art's priorities for
the future are in ensuring that the children of Calgary Hays have
new educational facilities so that they don't require unusually
long bus trips to school, obtaining adequate funding from government
for healthcare facilities in the constituency that are easily accessible
and serve the long term needs of the residents, ensuring social
services and facilities exist that meet the needs of our senior
citizens and those who need special assistance in the community.
